Server Status Postscript: 11:00am, 6/17/13

Dear Brainwrap Client:

I'm very happy to report that the server has now been running very smoothly for 6 full days.

I'll continue to monitor it, but will suspend further status notices unless any further incidents occur (which I certainly hope won't happen for a long time).

I've also included an updated chart showing how the server load was impacted by both of the recent incidents, as well as how it was running before and after each.

Dear Brainwrap Client:

I'm happy to report that the server has now been running very smoothly for over 2 full business days (the load is generally highest during 9-5 standard business hours, as you would imagine).

I'll continue to monitor it closely and will send status notices daily for the next few days.

In addition, I thought it might be of interest to see a visual representation of how these two incidents impacted the server load; see the following chart covering the past two weeks:

Dear Brainwrap Client:

Just a quick note to let you know the server has been running smoothly since the hardware replacement yesterday afternoon. It will continue to be monitored closely throughout the day for any signs of excessive load or other issues.

In addition, I've added a "Server Status" page to my own website (located on a separate server) where I'll be posting any server issue notices. This way, if you're unable to receive these mailings due to your email being down, you can always check this page for the latest information.

Server Load Status

To All Brainwrap Clients:

The server was taken off-line at around 2:30pm and was brought back online at around 3:20pm. The RAID array card and one of the RAID hard drives were replaced, which seems to have resolved the issue.

However, until we're certain about this (especially after the previous issues from last week), the server will continue to be monitored closely. I will follow up tomorrow morning with an update.

Again, I thank you for your patience during this incident.

Server Issue Update

Dear Brainwrap Client--

We are still working on the server issue. It now appears that there may be hardware issues. To test this out, the server will have to be taken offline for a short period to test various hardware components. Site and email availability may be spotty for the next few hours.

I will keep you posted as more information becomes available.

More Server Load Issues

Dear Brainwrap Client--

Both myself and LiquidWeb are aware of another server load issue this morning, originating at around 10:30am. It is being worked on even as I type this.

I apologize once again and ask for your patience as we resolve this latest issue. Both LiquidWeb and I are very much aware of how important the continuous and uninterrupted access to both your website and your email services are, and am doing everything possible to resolve this issue permanently.

I will send a follow-up notice as soon as we have resolved the issue, including more specific information about what is being done to prevent this from happening again.
